One year one day and counting...

Today is my one-year anniversary in Brunei! It’s incredible how time can really just fly, and even more incredible how my sanity has managed to hold up against the ravages of the everyday mind-numbing monotony all this while.

Throughout this one year, I’ve seen old faces give way to the new, and experienced (and survived) major upheavals in management along the way. Even my friend, who came with me to Brunei on the same day, is soon to depart for Singapore for good. It’s like living through the Russian revolutions. Such is the length of time I’ve spent here. I’m like one of the old relics of the camp; in fact, the second oldest amongst NSFs. I never thought I’d see the light of day when I could actually proclaim myself as a laojiao, though I’m not as ecstatic as I thought I’d be. I feel aged just associating myself with that term. Now, if only I could start looking old as well.
