Woohoo! Salvation beckons! The status of my understudy has been upgraded from “pending recommendation from CPC NSF” to “pending clearance of FFI”, which means that my replacement will be firm once he clears the necessary medical examinations. I’m not entirely optimistic about that, especially if he’s disgruntled about the posting, so he just may cook up some injury to forestall his arrival - typical NSF behaviour. Nevertheless, I’m ecstatic; at least, CPC is actively searching a replacement for me now, and not sitting on its fat ass doing nothing until it realizes that my ORD is round the corner.

Frankly speaking, I’m actually quite ambivalent about returning to Singapore for good, because of the less than savoury anecdotes I’ve heard about life in 4SIR – if you can even call it a life in the first place. Returning to being thumbed down by Third Sergeants is not my idea of counting down to ORD, especially after having led a relatively collegial NS life for the past one and a half years – my ego pride won’t be able to take it...lol

Ah well…I’ll let nature take its course for now. If things really do remain torrid 4SIR, I might just conceive a plan to delay my return by a couple of week. =P
